The approach
How we work.
The work uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), acceptance of doubt, and restructuring of beliefs about the dangerousness of intrusive thoughts.
Clinical areas
OCD manifests with unwanted intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and behaviours or rituals aimed at reducing distress (compulsions). CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention is among the most studied and recommended interventions.
The approach
The work uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), acceptance of doubt, and restructuring of beliefs about the dangerousness of intrusive thoughts.
When to seek help
When rituals begin to take up time, energy and relationships; when the person feels they can no longer choose whether to carry them out or not.
What to expect
The pathway requires commitment and gradualness. The goal is not to eliminate intrusive thoughts — universal and physiological — but to change one's relationship with them.
